Police, PDEA agents raid marijuana plantation in Tampakan, South Cotabato
Koronadal City - Around 27,000 Marijiana plants were uprooted by joint elements of Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-12) in Tampakan town Saturday.
As reported by the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPO), operatives left 9:00 in the evening of October 18 to conduct a law enforcement operation at the tri-boundary of Sitio Alyong, Barangay Danlag, Tampakan, South Cotabato; Sitio Lapia, Barangay Kimlawis, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur, and Sitio Alyong, Barangay Datalblao, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.
They arrived 11:00 in the morning the next day in the area where a vast marijuana plantation were immediately uprooted and burned with the assistance of the local leaders. The report said that the operatives brought with them 50 hills of Marijuana to serve as one of the evidences they have gathered.
Tribal Chieftain Dot Dasan Capion identifies the owner of the said Marijuana Plantation as Gugwelin Macondon, also resident of the said place. However, Macondon was not around during the operation.
PDEA-12 is preparing a case to be filed against the suspect in violation of the Republic Act 9165 or The Comorehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
