Polomolok, Pikit, Kalamansig, Esperanza lead 2018 Seal of child friendly local governance awardees
The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) has released the names of 50 cities and municipalities in Region 12 that were awarded with 2018 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance that included Cotabato City and other cities in the Soccsksargen region.
The town of Polomolok in South Cotabato got the highest rating of 98 followed by Pikit in North Cotabato with 97 and the towns of Esperanza, Kalamansig and Pres. Roxas coming in third with a grade of 94.
Others in the list according to rating are: Aleosan, Mlang, Tupi, Malungon, Surallah, Maasim, Isulan, Alamada, Antipas, Kabacan, Glan, Pigcawayan, Alabel, Maitum.
Cotabato City, Malapatan, Lebak, Lutayan, Midsayap, Tulunan, Carmen, Tampakan, Tboli, Pres. Quirino, Lake Sebu, Columbio, Matalam, Libungan, Gen. Santos City, Sen. Ninoy Aquino, Tacurong City, Arakan, Kidapawan City.
Magpet, Koronadal City, Kiamba, Palimbang, Sto Nino, Tantangan, Makilala, Bagumbayan, Banga, Lambayong, Banisilan, Norala.
The award, CWC chaired by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as partner, is based on the results of the mandatory Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), which is conducted annually and covers all cities and municipalities across the country.
