Prices of round fruits up in Koronadal City ahead of New Year
KORONADAL CITY - Prices of round fruits have gone up in this city and nearby areas as New Year draws near.Unbelievably, the price of a kilo of yellow mango now costs P160 per kilo, double its price of P60 per kilo on Monday.Krezel Parcon, a fruit vendor at the city's public market, admitted the price was really high to due supply and demand principle.A kilo of guava which sells at P40 now sells at P70 a kilo while melon that only costs P10 per kilo now sells at P25 per kilo. An average melon is about 2 or 2.5 kilos. An apple now costs P50 from P10 to 20 a piece.A Pakwan now costs P25 per kilo from P10 per kilo last Monday. An average Pakwan weighs about 2 to 3 kilos each.The most unbelievable price of round fruit is that of dragon fruit which now sells at P300 per kilo from about P100 to P150 last week.Parcon urged the public to buy the ready made round fruits in a basket to avoid the hassle of picking and selecting various kinds of fruits during the rush hours.
