Second Filipino pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia
COTABATO CITY – The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) today announced the death of second Filipino pilgrim in the Holy Land.
Speaking for the NCMF Jun Alonto-Datu Ramos identified the pilgrim as Enting Tungao Kamensa, 66, of Datu Piang, Maguindanao.
Dr. Abdulnasser Masorong, NCMF hajj-supervising medical team head in a report to NCMF, said Kamensa “lost consciousness” due to cardiac arrest inside the Masjidil Haraam in Makkah at about 3:30p.m. Saturday.
Masorong said members of NCMF medical team and physicians from a Makkah hospital tried to revive Kamensa, to no avail.
Kamensa was the second Filipino pilgrims from Mindanao who died while performing one of the five pillars of Islam.
Sarapia Abalimbona Taha, 57, female, of Lumbayanague, Lanao del Sur, also died of cardiac arrest inside Masjidil Haraam on Friday noon (Philippine time).
Relatives have agreed to bury their loved ones in the Holy Land. (EOF)
