Sultan Kudarat town LGU extends assistance to fire victims
MAGUINDANAO – Mayor Shameem Mastura of Sultan Kudarat town has assured to extend relief support to victims of the fire that hit Barangay Katuli and left a fisherman and this three children dead.Mastura was reportedly responded to the scene of the conflagration and promised to help the victims.Chief Supt. Graciano Mijares of the Police Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao identified the fatalities as Daemus Araneta and his children, Vina, Dagul and Mujahid.Dagul and Mujahid were elementary grade pupils while Vina was in Kindergarten school yet.The victims’ house in Barangay Katuli in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao was one of five houses hit by fire at about 2and00 a.m. Tuesday.Araneta’s wife is a contract worker in the Middle East, according to Mijares, citing initial feedback by the Sultan Kudarat police office.Local officials said they have informed Araneta's spouse, Alibai, of the incident.Araneta, whose main source of income is fishing in the nearby Moro Gulf, hailed from Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur.It was barely three weeks since Alibai, an ethnic Maguindanaon, left for work in Saudi Arabia, relatives told reporters.The municipal government of Sultan Kudarat assured to extend relief support to the families of the fire victims.
