Trader shot dead in North Cotabato

MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – Two unidentified gunmen shot dead Thursday night an
agricultural trader here, police said.

Supt. Bernard
Tayong, Midsayap town police chief, said Ricky Ogates, 37, of Barangay Bual
Sur, was waiting for his wife to board his Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up vehicle in
front of his establishment in Barangay Poblacion when two men on motorbike arrived.

One of them
pulled a cal. 45 pistol and repeatedly shot him at about 6 p.m. After the shooting, the suspects fled toward
the borders of North Cotabato and Maguindanao.

Tayong said
responding police officers rushed Ogates to Pesante Medical Clinic but he was
pronounced dead on arrival.

Crime scene
investigators found eight empty shells for cal. 45 pistol.

Tayong said
Ogates’ body absorbed all the eight bullets with one bullet hitting him in the
head.
Motive of the attack
remained unknown.
