UPDATEand 4th blast hits Cotabato City, one slightly hurt
COTABATO CITY - A sidewalk vendorwas slightly injured in yet another blast that hit this city this week, radio reports said.Normanan Baliwan of Malagapasdistrict was slightly injured, Tonton Hinelo of DXMS said in his report.In a flash report by DXMS-AM Radyo Bida and NDBC, the blast occurred shortly before 7 a.m. at the entrance of Padama Hotel along Quezon Avenue.Henilo saidthe blast caused no damages to the concrete main entrance of the hotel.Baliwan, a sidewalk vendor, said he was clearing the sidewalk where his stuff was located then put the dirt on a waste bin when it suddenly exploded.Post blast investigation showed the blast was caused by an improvised bomb. Baliwan had no shrapnel injuries.Scene of the crime operatives are still in the area as of posting.On Wednesday, a grenade was lobbed at the main gate of National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Maguindanao office. Nobody was hurt.On Monday afternoon, a grenade was lobbed at the roof of Police Station 2 office. It did not explode.Last Saturday, a smoke grenade was thrown at the office of Traffic Management Unit that police believed was aimed at creating confusion so the detainees could escape. The TMU office is located beside the Police Station 1 lock up cell.
