Voters list up for 2019 polls to begin July 2

COTABATO CITY -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) today saidregistration for voters for the May 13, 2019 national and local elections will resume on Monday, July 2.The registration period will end on September 29. It is the duty of the Commission to conduct regular voter registration in order to enfranchise and enlist qualified voters nationwide, with the exception of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur in light of the current situation in the area, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said in a statement.Application for new registration, transfer/transfer with reactivation, change/correction of entry and inclusion and reinstatement of records in the list of voters shall be accepted, Jimenez said.The poll body said it will also conduct sattellite registration of voters during the period where in field officials to go barangays, public plazas, schools and other public places to register voters.Jimenez said the offsite registration will give priority to members of the so called vulnerable sectorsuch as indigenous peoples, senior citizens and pregnant women.
