World class folklore festival unfolds in Koronadal City
KORONADAL CITY - Residents here and in South Cotabato have been feted with world class cultural presentation as the Council of International Organization forFolklore and Folkarts (CIOFF)-Koronadal International Folklore Festival 2015 started Monday.A street dancing parade signaled the start of the international event featuring local and international cultural groups.Participants fromJapan, Sri Lanka, Poland, Turkey, Slovenia, Russia, Chinese Taipei and Indonesia, in their traditional and cultural dress wowed the crowd as they marched along major city streets.Several groups from Philippines also amazed the audiencewho lined up the street with cameras and mobile phones flashing. These included contingent ofHinugyaw Dance Troupe of Koronadal City, University of the Philippines Filipiniana Dance Group, Bukidnon State University Dance Troupe, Philippine Barangay Folk Dance Troupe, ECD Dance Company and Zamboanga del Sur National High SchoolDance TroupEarning the most applause was the delegate from Mexico.
