Lay ministers to bless tombs in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY - The Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Marbelis all set for theobservance ofAll Saints’ Day and All Souls' Day. To ensure orderliness in the two-day religious event,the church has assigned lay workers to administer the blessing of the tombs. Valme Mariveles, Saint Anthony Parish Media Reporter, said booths will be put up in designated areas in the Catholic Cemetery, PublicCemetery and even in the private cemeteries to assist people coming to visit the tomb ofdead relatives. People who wanted the tomb of their love ones be blessed can ask assistance from our lay workers,” Mariveles told DXOM FM Koronadal Tuesday. Mariveles said the church will not accept any payment other than tomb rental and donations during the celebration. Bishop Dinualdo Guttierez of the Diocese of Marbel, will officiate the All Souls day mass at 7 a.m. onNovember 2 at the Catholic Cemetery.
