Tagged nonsense, village councilman shoots, hurts purok president

KORONADAL CITY -- A village official in Banga, South Cotabato was fuming mad after he was labelled as non-sense village kagawad, pulled a pistol and shot a purok leader Tuesday.Police Officer 2 Kim Fresco, Banga PNP duty investigator, identified the suspect as Jefferson dela Cruz, village councilman of Barangay Derilon while the victim as JunAngos Amer, president of Purok Sampaguita in the same village.Citing investigation report, Fresco said dela Cruz was heading for home at 6:30 when he stopped over the house of Mer.As he passed by Mer's house, he heard the purok leader as saying walang kwentang opisyal ng barangay si dela Cruz. This angered Dela Cruz who pulled his .38 cal revolver and shot Mer twice, hitting him in his right arm and waist. Mer was rushed to South Cotabato provincial hospital while dela Cruz surrendered to local police.
