Region 12 cops arrest most wanted man, seize 14 high powered guns in Sarangani

GEN. SANTOS CITY –Police Regional Office 12 (PRO12) operatives in coordination with AFP counterpart arrested two (2) suspects including Malungon, Sarangani Province Top 1 Most Wanted along with the recovery of 14 assorted High-Powered Firearms in its simultaneous implementation of Search Warrants and Warrant of Arrests on October 25, 2019.
Police report revealed that at about 7:40am of October 25, 2019 Sarangani Police Force together with Sarangani Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Mobile Force Battalion(RMFB) 12, and 73rd IB, Philippine Army swooped down several houses at Sitio Datal Lutay, Barangay B’laam, Malungon, Sarangani Province to implement five (5) search Warrants for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and two (2) Warrant of Arrests for murder against Luis Lañelyn Malila @ Commander Lo, Tornica Masday Malila, Nelson Malila Fiang, Dante Maligon Malila and Robert Malila Fiang.
The operation resulted in the arrest of suspects Luis Lañelyn Malila @ Commander Lo, male, of legal age, married, farmer and Tornica Masday Malila, male, of legal age, married, farmer, all are residents of Sitio Datal Lutay, Barangay B’laan, Malungon, Sarangani Province.
Siezed from Luis Malila were one (1) unit Garrand Rifle (H&R ARM Co.), one (1) unit Armscor twelve gauge shotgun, three (3) unit homemade twelve gauge, one (1) unit Estrella Parco air gun, one (1) clip of Garrand rifle, two (2) steel magazine of homemade twelve gauge, two (2) rounds of twelve gauge ammunition, five (5) rounds of ammunition for 5.56 caliber and four (4) rounds ammunition of Garrand Rifle.
Meanwhile, search warrant against Tornica Malila resulted in the confiscation of one (1) unit homemade twelve gauge, one (1) round of twelve-gauge ammunition and four (4) rounds of 5.56 caliber ammunition.
On the other hand, other subjects Nelson Malila Fiang and Ronald Masday Malila managed to evade arrest, while Dante Maligon Malila was not around during the service of Search Warrant. However, during the service of warrant the team seized from Nelson Malila Fiang residence one (1) unit Garrand Rifle (Springfield), one (1) unit homemade 5.56 rifle, one (1) unit Estrella Parco air gun, one (1) piece clip of Garand Rifle, seven (7) rounds of ammunition of Garrand Rifle.
Search at the residence of Ronald Masday Malila, yields to four (4) units homemade twelve gauge with two (2) rounds of ammunition.
While search from the house of Dante Maligon Malila yields negative as no contraband was found during the search.
According to PBGEN ALFRED S CORPUS, Regional Director, PRO 12, suspect Luis Lañelyn Malila @ Commander Lo is the Top 1 Most Wanted of the municipality of Malungon and is charged for three counts of murder with no bail bond recommended and two for frustrated murder. While, Tornica Masday Malila is charged for murder with no bailbond recommended.
“This is an Armed Lawless Group operating in the quad boundaries of Tampakan, South Cotabato; Colombio, Sultan Kudarat; Malungon, Sarangani Province and Malungon Province and is responsible for atrocities within this area including cattle rustling and cultivation of marijuana.”, RD CORPUS added.
All confiscated contrabands were properly accounted for at the operation site in the presence of witnesses and firearms will be subjected for ballistic examination for proper turn over to the issuing court together with other pieces of evidence.
Arrested suspects were subjected for booking procedures as appropriate charges will be filed against them.
