Magnitude 4.2 quake jolts North Cotabato; Intensity III felt in Kidapawan

KIDAPAWAN CITY - An Intensity IV triggered by Magnitude 4.2 quake hit Makilala town early evening Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.

The quake which came at 6:16 p.m. was traced 28 kilometers east of Makilala and part of the aftershocks of previous major shake. 

Phivolcs said tremor was also tectonic and it came more than five hours after a Magnitude 4.1 quake hit Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.

Below is the reported intensities in the 6:16 p.m. quake:

Intensity IV - Makilala, Cotabato
Intensity III - Kidapawan City

Phivolcs said more aftershocks are expected in North Cotabato.
