Construction of P182-M worth Lanao del Sur agri trading center on 

COTABATO CITY - The provincial government of Lanao del Sur is constructing a P182 million marketing facility for agricultural products from across the province to hasten the connectivity among local merchants and entrepreneurs and their counterparts outside of the province.

The construction of the large, permanent trading site in a strategic area in Marantao municipality is being bankrolled with a P182 million loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines, according to staff members of the Lanao del Sur provincial governor’s communications office.

Bangsamoro solons file bill to standardize halal industry in BARMM

COTABATO CITY––Several Bangsamoro lawmakers filed a measure to standardize the halal industry and protect Muslim consumers from consuming and availing of non-halal products and services on Monday afternoon, December 18.

Halal Consumer's Act for the Bangsamoro Region, primarily authored by Member of the Parliament Romeo K. Sema, defines the halal standards, registration, and monitoring of halal products including the prohibited acts of misleading and false representation, and the halal consumers’ rights.

BARMM bill proposes the creation of 32 single-member parliamentary districts

COTABATO CITY — A measure was introduced on Monday, December 18, that would define the constituencies of the 32 single-member parliamentary districts in the Bangsamoro region, which is crucial in preparation for the first parliamentary elections in 2025.
 
The Parliament Bill No. 267, filed by the Government of the Day, aims to ensure equitable representation among the 4.9 million Bangsamoro constituents.
 
Of the 80 members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, 40% are district representatives.
 

Breaking educational barriers: BARMM provides water transportation vehicles to Sulu, Tawi-Tawi

COTABATO CITY – The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) continues to uphold its overarching goal of ensuring that “No Bangsamoro learner shall be left behind,” as it turned over two water vehicles worth P14,490,000 to the school divisions of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
 

BARMM centers efforts on community resilience for sustainable peace, development

DAVAO CITY — Bangsamoro Government demonstrated its commitment to resilience by convening the ‘Bangsamoro Community Resilience Summit’ on Dec. 12-13, providing a strategic platform to address challenges in the Bangsamoro region.
 
Newly designated Minister of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) Lawyer Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba took the forefront in championing resilience within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), emphasizing the need for collaboration, diversity utilization, and inclusivity to foster resilience in the region.
 

MSU implements academic leniency for students affected by bombing

MANILA – The Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City is allowing its students to be given an incomplete grade and another semester to complete their academic requirements in the aftermath of the bombing.

MSU’s Board of Regents on Tuesday instructed the university president to implement several adjustments so their students could cope with school requirements after the suspension of classes due to the deadly bombing that killed four people and injured several others early this month.

Southerners join together in women empowerment campaign

COTABATO CITY - More than a hundred peace activists from three Bangsamoro provinces converged here on Monday and fused ranks for multi-sector regional women empowerment efforts that two foreign benefactors are to help push forward.

About a hundred women involved in public service participated in Monday’s “We Resolve” women empowerment forum here, organized together by two foreign benefactors, the Relief International, the German Cooperation and local counterparts Balay Mindanao and the Bangsamoro regional government.

BTA tackles MILG, BAGO and BYC 2023 proposed budget

COTABATO CITY The budget deliberation at the committee level is in full swing as the Finance, Budget, and Management Committee of the Bangsamoro Parliament continues to review and scrutinize each budget proposal of the ministries, agencies, and offices of the Bangsamoro government.

On the 13th day of the budget hearing, Deputy Speaker Atty. Paisalin Tago and Deputy Floor Leader Atty. Anna Tarhata Basman, the newly designated Attorney General, defended the P55.7 million budget of the Bangsamoro Attorney General’s Office (BAGO) for 2024.

Appointment of women to sensitive BARMM posts hailed

COTABATO CITY - Advocates of women empowerment and groups helping protect their rights were elated with the appointment of three from the sector to high positions in the Bangsamoro government.

The three appointees, the lawyers Sha Elijah Dumama Alba and Anna Tarhata Basman, and the longtime peace advocate Susana Salvador Anayatin,  are members of the 80-seat regional parliament of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
