PSA-BARMM to advance data gathering techniques

COTABATO CITY  – The Philippine Statistics Authority of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA-BARMM) will further enhance its mechanism for collecting data by using advanced technologies such as the unmanned aerial vehicle, popularly known as drones, and Global Positioning System (GPS) devices.

This was announced by PSA-BARMM Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Razulden A. Mangelen during the region’s kickoff celebration of the 30th National Statistics Month (NSM) on Monday, October 7, at the Bangsamoro Government Center.

BARMM chief assures ARMM employees will be properly compensated

COTABATO CITY  – Bangsamoro Chief Minister Al Hajj Murad Ebrahim said the Bangsamoro Government continues to carefully implement the transition plan, particularly the ‘difficult part’ of phasing out the employees of the defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

BARMM's Project TABANG to benefit Marawi's IDPs

COTABATO CITY – Over 1,500 internally displaced persons from Marawi City will benefit from the free basic services the Bangsamoro Government will provide during the conduct of the Project TABANG in the city on October 4, 2019.

“This coming October 4, we are going to bring the project to Marawi City to help our Maranao brothers and sisters, especially those affected by the siege,” Bangsamoro Chief Minister Al Hajj Murad Ebrahim said during the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s regular session on Friday, September 27.

Stakeholders support proposed BARMM Madaris system

COTABATO CITY --- Islamic theologians have manifested support for the proposed standard Bangsamoro Islamic education system during consultations in central Mindanao in the past two weeks.

Islamic missionary Alzad Sattar of the interim parliament of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said Saturday hundreds of participants to the recent dialogues on the viability of creating the office of a Madrasah director-general for an institutionalized Islamic education system in the BARMM were in favor of the proposal.

BARMM execs address salary delays

COTABATO CITY - Officials move to address persisting issue on purported delays in release of salaries in some agencies of the fledgling Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

BARMM Acting Executive Secretary Abdullah Cusain said affected workers are mostly those holding service or job order contracts whose renewable tenure granted by the previous administration has expired last June.

BARMM conducts free civil service exam review sessions

COTABATO CITY – Six hundred (600) employees without civil service eligibility from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARMM) different ministries and offices in the city are undertaking a 10-day Civil Service Exam (CSE) review conducted for free by the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB).

The activity is an initiative of the Bangsamoro Government which aims to help deserving non-CSE passer employees of the BARMM who want to apply for a permanent position.

144 homes damaged by "Marilyn" in Tawi-Tawi

BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi – Close to 150 homes were damaged by Tropical Depression Marilyn that hit the islands here on Friday and Saturday, local officials said.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMO) said a total of 144 homes were partially and totally damaged by the strong wind and huge waves that hit the towns of Bongao, Simunul and Tandubas.

Bongao has the highest number of damaged homes with 143 followed by Tandubas with eight and Simunul two.

Salliman and Hadji Ahod Ebrahim of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao had also talked about the completion of on-going infrastructure projects in Basilan that were started by the defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao whose funding are now channeled through the BARMM government.
