KORONADAL CITY – Police today announced the arrest of a man behind the Sept. 16 bombing in Gen. Santos City that injured eight persons.Senior Supt. Oliver Enmodias, police regional deputy director for operation in Central Mindanao, said Jeffrey Panag Alonzo, 38 years old, married, and resident of Barangay Lapu, Polomolok, South Cotabato, was arrested three days pursuit operations against the suspects in the bombing in Crossing Makar, Baragay Apopong, Gen.

Last of 3 trapped miners in Tboli rescued

KORONADAL CITY - The last of three miners trapped inside a tunnel in Barangay Kematu, Tboli, South Cotabato has been rescued, officials said.Tboli Mayor Dibu Tuan said Jaime Valdez, 33, a resident of Sitio Lemblete, Barangay Kematu was rescued at about 10 a.m. Thursday.The tunnel where gold are being extracted reportedly collapsed at the height of heavy downpour on Tuesday. Aside from Valdez, two of his companions were also trapped when the tunnel collapsed.

Cops file charges vs. Sept. 2Isulan bombing

GEN. SANTOS CITY – Police authorities in Region 12 have filed criminal charges
against 13 suspects and several John Does tagged in the September 2 deadly
internet café improvised bomb attack in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat that left two
dead and 14 others injured.

Bombo Radyo GenSan manager, news head arrested for mulcting P10-M

GEN. SANTOS CITY – A Bombo Radyo
station manager and news director here were arrested during entrapment
operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation and Gen. Santos
City PNP Tuesday afternoon.

Kidapawan donates metal detectors to fight crimes, trains dogs on bomb detection

KIDAPAWAN CITY –
Mayor Joseph Evangelista today turned over 20 metal detectors to law enforcers
and security personnel to help prevent terrorism and other violence in the
city.

The metal detectors were
turned over to Supt. Ramil Hojilla, Kidapawan City police director, who in turn
handed them over to at least five groups.

Police chiefs of GenSan, Midsayap sacked over bombings

MANILA - Police Director General Oscar Albayalde today sacked the chiefs of police of Midsayap in North Cotabato and in General Santos City for their failure to prevent bombing in their jurisdiction.Before flying to Bengue, Albayalde told reporters in Camp Crame he ordered the relief of Supt. Samuel Cadungo of Midsayap and Chief Inspector Patrich Elma, station 2 commander. Eight people were hurt after an improvised explosive device (IED) was set off in General Santos. Eight hours later, another IED exploded in Midsayap but nobody was hurt.

City gov’t files protest vs. MILF over strafing in Barangay Kalanganan

COTABATO CITY – The Cotabato City government has filed protest before the coordinating
committee on cessation of hostilities of the government and Moro Islamic
Liberation Front following harassment by MILF rebels in Sitio Linao, Barangay
Kalanganan, Cotabato City Saturday night.

The harassment
involved firing of two rifle grenades and strafing of several homes by MILF
Commander Erap of the MILF’s 105th base command at past 8 p.m.
