Pregnant woman hurt in Koronadal shooting

KORONADAL CITY
– Teachers on board a passenger van plying to Tacurong City from this city
survived assassin’s bullets but not a pregnant mother seated beside the driver’s seat.

Mary Grace Boteng Rivera, 28, of Barangay Zone 4, a five-month pregnant and wife of van driver
Omar Ampatuan, was hit on her shoulder and is now out of danger.

Ampatuan said
he was to pick-up passengers near Caltex Gas Station along GenSan drive when he
noticed to men riding tandem on board a Bajaj motorbike.

Tornado hits South Cotabato village, 31 homes affected

BANGA, South Cotabato - At least 31 homes were damaged by what the locals believed was a tornado that hit the village of Cabudian on Saturday, officials said.Three puroks (districts) of Barangay Cabudian were affected, according to Village Chair Jonathan Ladot.Seventeen of the homes were in Purok Masinulondon, 11 in Purok Malipayon and three in Purok Mahigugmaon. Four houses were totally destroyed when trees fell on them.Local officials estimated the cost of damages at P100,000. Trees were uprooted due to strong winds that struck Saturday afternoon.Nobody was reported injured.

Smoke at KCC Mall of GenSan triggers evacuation of shoppers

GNE. SANTOS CITY -- A smoke emanated from a generator compartment of KCC Mall of GenSan triggered evacuation of mall goers at past 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018.Only smoke were seen billowing up from a generator located at the third floor, particularly near the comfort room.The KCC fire trucks and Gen. Santos City Fire fighters responded just in time.Witnesses said the shoppers left the mall in an orderly manner and nobody panicked. The guards guided the shoppers which route to take going outside the mall.No casualty or injury was reported.Normal operations resume about an hour later.
