COTABATO CITY – Police authorities here and in nearby Sultan Kudarat town in
Maguindanao have launched manhunt against gunmen who ambushed separately a
government employee and a businessman on Friday night.

A manhunt had
been conducted against two men who ambushed and seriously wounded Angelito
Cabacungan, 51, an employee of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Region
12.

AMPATUAN, Maguindanao – Police and
anti-narcotics operatives arrested here Saturday afternoon a man wanted for
peddling illegal drugs and seized suspected shabu and hand grenade from him.

Director Juvenal Azurin of Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM)
identified the suspect as Alimudin Franco Baliwan, 38, jobless and a resident
of Barangay Poblacion, Ampatuan.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- A drug den operator and five others were arrested here late Thursday by combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and personnel of the city police office.Naravy Duquiatan, PDEA director for Region 12, said Friday drug den owner Christine Madison Lozada Chua is now detained along with accomplices Shirley Martinez Lozada, Charmaine Cablitas Vallinas, Galvin Salasayo Capilitan and Jovert Tio Mendoza.All five of them were nabbed inside their hideout in Barangay Dadiangas here, from where they distributed methamphetamine hydrochloride, most known as shabu.

COTABATO CITY -– Security officials here are not taking any chances and remained on
heightened alert due to possibilities of terror attacks from IS inspired armed

police officials said Cotabato City is at threat level 3 because the city is
among the target for attacks by terrorists any time.

During the
Cotabato City Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting, security officials
revealed that the IS inspired Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) is
targeting urban centers in Region 12, including Cotabato City.

KIDAPAWAN CITY – A newly elected village chair of Maguindanao, his wife and two
aides, were arrested by joint Army, police and anti-narcotics operatives
Monday.

Philippine
Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 12 (PDEA-12) and in the Autonomous Region in
Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM), backed by police and 7th Infantry
Battalion operatives, served the search warrant against Nestor Salama, 47, village
chair of Barangay Balatongkayo, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao, and a resident of
Mercado Street, Barangay Poblacion, Kabacan, North Cotabato.

ALEOSAN, North Cotabato - A farmer who came from a drinking spree and heading for home was hurt when a hand grenade in his pocket accidentally fell and went off in Barangay Tomado here Saturday night.Senior Inspector Edwin Abantes, Aleosan town police chief, identified the victim as Aderiano Takandong Candole, 54, farmer and resident of Barangay Tomado.Abantes, in a report to North Cotabato police office, said Candole was walking home at 6 p.m. from a drinking spree in the village and put his fragmentation grenade on his pant's front pocket.As he walked, it fell off the ground.
