COTABATO CITY --- Local officials are struggling to disengage two feuding Moro factions in Mamasapano town Maguindanao del Sur that clashed again last Sunday after a five-week lull in hostilities, sending innocent villagers running for their lives.

Senior officials of Army units and the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Police Office told reporters on Tuesday that the two groups, one led by Zainudin Kiaro and the other by a certain Commander Badruddin, are both identified with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

Sa panayam ng DXMS, kinilala ni CIDG BARMM Regional Director Lt. Col. Ariel Huesca ang dalawang mga nahuli na sina Marlon Danding alyas “Titing” at Saddam Polayagan na pawang taga Alamada, Cotabato.

Inaresto ang mga ito matapos nilang mapagbentahan ng mga armas at bala ang isang CIDG undercover agent.

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao del Norte - Two of five suspects who gunned down a police captain in a public market of Poblacion 2 in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte have voluntarily surrendered to authorities after a follow-up operation on Thursday.

Major Christopher Cabugwang, Parang town police chief, is yet to reveal the identity of two policemen who will be charged of murder, including three other at-large gunmen.

Cabugwang said that the two police personnel are assigned to local police stations of Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office.

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao Norte  – Three militiamen were killed while three others were injured in an ambush by still unidentified gunmen in Lanao del Sur before dawn Tuesday, police said.

The members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) were killed on the spot when they were ambushed by lawless elements in a sitio in East Village, Marogong, Lanao del Sur, according to Lt. Colonel Alanaid Moner, the Lanao del Sur Police Public Information Officer.

MANILA – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. on Wednesday visited and lauded the seven wounded soldiers for their bravery during the recent clash in the province of Maguindanao del Sur, that led to the death of a ranking Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and 11 of his members.

COTABATO CITY - A Moro gunman was killed while six others were reportedly hurt in a series of gunfights on Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Banucagon in Pigcawayan town in North Cotabato that sent hundreds of villagers running for their lives.

Citing reports relayed by local executives, officials of Army units in the province and Col. Gilbert Tuzon, director of the North Cotabato provincial police, told reporters on Thursday that the protagonists in the gunfights are two enemy groups belonging to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao del Norte - Major General Alex S. Rillera PA, Commander of the 6th Infantry Division/Joint Task Force Central, led the awarding of medals to seven soldiers wounded in the battle against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF).

The ceremony was held at Camp Siongco Station Hospital in the Headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division, Camp Siongco, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte, today.

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao Norte - Combined police personnel from city police office, city drug enforcement unit, police mobiel groups and provincial police office apprehended one drug suspect in a buy-bust operation conducted on April 15, 2024, at Brgy. Cadayonan II, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

Based on the report from Marawi City Police Station, they launched the operation with a poseur-buyer who transacted with alias "Carim" and his two cohorts infront of an eatery of the aforesaid place.
