Two (2) reported deaths from Kidapawan City

The 8013th reported confirmed case, 79 years old male. Cause of death is Cardiac Arrest Secondary to Cardiomyopathies; Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease Prostatic Carcinoma; COVID-19 Confirmed.

The 8015th reported confirmed case, 96 years old female. Cause of death is Community Acquired Pneumonia High-Risk; COVID-19 Confirmed Case.

12 newborn infants from PGH's Neonatal ICU (NICU) were transferred to Sta. Ana Hospital after a fire broke out on the third floor of the UP-Phillippine General Hospital along Taft Avenue, Manila early Sunday (May 16, 2021) morning, according to Dr. Grace Padilla, Director of the Sta. Ana Hospital.

The fire started at 12:41 a.m. and was declared fire out by the Manila Fire Department at 5:41 a.m. No casualty or injury were reported. Cause of the fire still under investigation.

COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro Region inter-agency task force on COVID-19 today reported 44 new infections with Lanao del Sur and Marawi City registering 18 new cases.

Cotabato City coming in second place with 15 and Maguindano with 8.

The region now has a total of 5,695 infections with 628 active cases.

Death toll is at 217.

COTABATO CITY  – More than 340 vials of Coronavac, manufactured by Chinese firm Sinovac, are feared to have been damaged after these were kept in a non-functional freezer in Makilala, North Cotabato.

Dr. Eva Rabaya, North Cotabato provincial health chief, said the 348 vials had been forwarded to the Department of Health Regional Office in Cotabato City to determine if the vaccines are still safe for vaccination.

Makilala municipal health officer Dr. Gina Sorilla, who was summoned by the municipal town council to explain, said the vaccines were intended for senior citizens.

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao --Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go opened Tuesday the 109th Malasakit Center in the country at the Cotabato Sanitarium Hospital (CSH) here.

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo and Maguindanao Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu accompanied the senator here together with other representatives of national government agencies.

“This center is to make you feel that you are not forgotten by President Rodrigo Duterte,” the senator told health officials, nurses, and several beneficiaries.

COTABATO CITY -- Region 12 or the Soccsksargen region has recorded a single day highest tally of COID-19 infections AT 183.

In its Regional COVID-19 tracker issued at 6 p.m. on May 8, 2021, the DOH-12 said 49 patients have also recovered while three persons have died.

COTABATO CITY --- The regional health minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao dismissed as “baseless” insinuations that COVID-19 vaccines are forbidden in Islam.

Anti-COVID-19 medical workers from the Integrated Provincial Health Office-Maguindanao gave Bangsamoro Health Minister Bashary Latiph a Sinovac anti-coronavirus jab Thursday.

Latiph, a physician, is a Muslim who hails from Lanao del Sur, a component province of BARMM.
