KORONADAL CITY – A village councilman in the mountain town of Sen. Ninoy Aquino,
Sultan Kudarat was arrested for charges of murder he allegedly committed in
Sarangani province after eluding arrest for the past 19 years, police said
today.

Chief Supt.
Eliseo Tam Rasco, police regional director for Region 12, identified the
village official as Rene Lalantacon of Barangay Kudin, Sen. Ninoy Aquino, who
uses the name Joel Castillon.

He used
fictitious name and even elected to public office, Rasco said in a
statement.

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Four persons believed to be behind the murder of an official of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) were arrested by joint Army and police authorities hours after the crime was committed.
The four suspects were arrested in Barangay Gaunan, Mlang, North Cotabato.

COTABATO CITY – Police are hunting down two men riding tandem on motorbike who
ambushed and killed a police officer and wounded another along Yapsy Street
Sunday night.

1 Ali Mama, 26, a resident Pres. Quirino, Sultan Kudarat was pronounced dead on
arrival at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center. Injured was PO1 Jolace Ali Guiamad, 27, a
resident of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao.

KIDAPAWAN CITY
– The Mindanao Star Bus Line, one of the buses serving the Davao City-Kidapawan
City and vice versa routes, has donated one unit bus to the Kidapawan City
government, officials said today.
