2 robbers dead in Datu Odin Sinsuat shootout

DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao -- Policemen shot dead Tuesday night, July 5, two men who had reportedly divested a number of residents here of personal belongings at gunpoint.

The cohorts Miguel Villadar and Jonathan Solaiman of Barangay Labungan here died on the spot from bullet wounds sustained in the clash in Barangay Awang here with policemen searching for them after having robbed another victim about an hour before.

Active cop wanted for carnapping falls in Cotabato City

MANILA – Members of the anti-scalawag unit of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have arrested an active police officer wanted for carnapping cases in Cotabato City on Wednesday.

In a statement Friday, Brig. Gen. Samuel Nacion, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), identified the suspect as Pat. Jassim Muhammad Aking.

BARMM CIDG agents arrest vice mayoral aspirant, seize guns

COTABATO CITY  – A defeated vice mayoral candidate in Maguindanao was arrested and seized high- powered firearms during law enforcement operation before Friday, police said.

Lt. Colonel Bernard Lao, head of Bangsamoro Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), led the operation against Usop Sanggacala Aron, former village chair of Barangay Rumirimbang, Barira based on a search warrant issued by a local court.

Aron ran and lost in the vice mayoralty race in Barira during this year’s national and local elections.

Villager dead, 2 hurt in North Cotabato gun attack

COTABATO CITY --- A villager was killed while two others were seriously wounded when suspected members of a local terrorist group shot with assault rifles four houses in Pikit town in North Cotabato late Thursday.

In a statement Friday, the Pikit Municipal Police Station identified the fatality as Gilbert Roa, who died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Roa was inside one of four adjoining houses in Sitio Saguing in Barangay Ginatilan in Pikit, North Cotabato that unidentified men shot with M16 and M14 assault rifles.

Sinabi ni Datu Odin municipal police deputy chief Lt. Guiseppe Tamayo na nagpapatuloy pa ang kanilang imbesigasyon sa motibo ng krimen at kung sino ang may gawa nito.

Sa pahayag ng isa sa kaanak ng biktima, naglalakad si kagawad patungong barangay hall kahapon ng tanghali nang barilin ng di pa nakilalang mga suspect.

8 die, 5 hurt in Maguindanao police operation

COTABATO CITY – A police law enforcement operation early turned ugly when persons wanted with warrants of arrest resisted arrest and traded shots with lawmen in Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao.

Brig. Gen. Arthur Cabalona, police director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), said police forces were to serve warrants of arrest against two wanted persons Turkey Utto Latip, wanted for frustrated murder and Katindig Mustapha who was facing charges for robbery with homicide.

Armed lawless group leader, pal killed in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO,  Maguindanao – Government forces conducted a law enforcement support operation (LESO) that resulted in the killing of two (2) suspects when they engaged in a firefight with the state forces in Brgy. Bugasan Sur, Matanog, Maguindanao on June 16, 2022.

Major Melchor Gonzaludo PN (M), Commanding Officer of the 5th Marine Battalion Landing Team identified the slain suspects as Norodin Guimad believed to be the leader of an armed lawless group (ALG), and Puti Sumanday, one of his followers, who have an existing warrant of arrest for murder and frustrated murder.

CAFGU killed, 3 companions hurt in Maguindanao ambush

DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao ---- A member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit was killed while three others were badly hurt in an ambush here at noontime Friday.

Lt. Colonel Assir Balindong, town police chief, nmed the fatality as Thong Kaul, 40, who died ont he spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Probers from the Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station identified Kaul’s wounded companions as Salindatu Mangulamas, Mohammad Mama and Ali Arsad, also CAFGU members.

4 die, 6 hurt in gun attacks in Cotabato City, Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY  – Four persons were killed and six were hurt in separate gun attacks that occurred here and in nearby town in Maguindanao.

Police Capt. Jetto Yang, Cotabato City police station 3 chief, said a group of teenagers on board a black Toyota sedan was ambushed Sunday night by still unidentified gunmen in Barangay Kalanganan 2, this city.

The 7 p.m. ambush left two teenagers killed and six of their companions injured.

Police said the two whose identities were withheld by investigators, were pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.

Hunt for 5 men of slain terror group spokesman on

COTABATO CITY --- Authorities are trying to locate five followers of the spokesman of a local Islamic State-inspired terror group soldiers killed in a clash Monday.

Army intelligence operatives shot dead Abdulfatah Omar Abdulmaguid, also known in the Dawlah Islamiya as Abu Huzaifah, in a brief shootout at Barangay Poblacion in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town in the second district of Maguindanao.

Senior Army and police intelligence officials told reporters Wednesday efforts to locate five of his followers are underway.
