KORONADAL CITY
– Police authorities in Region 12 have impounded and briefly held a total of
2,473 vehicles and motorcycles, including issuance of citation tickets to vehicles’
drivers for violation of local ordinances during the implementation of Oplan
Mapayapa.

Supt. Maximo
Sebastian, chief of Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB-12), said the
operation in Gen. Santos City was conducted on June 28 to July 6 and July 9-12
in Koronadal City.

KORONADAL CITY
– Four persons were killed and 28 others were seriously injured when a truck
they were riding lost its brake system crash on the roadside in Malungon,
Sarangani province this morning.

It was a case
of malfunctioned brake system, Supt. Aldrin Gonzales, spokesperson of Police
Regional Office 12 said in a phone interview of the Friday the 13th
highway mishap in Purok Buayan, Barangay Malandag.

Maguindanao – An improvised bomb planted along a roadside here
triggered traffic along the Cotabato-Isulan highway Thursday morning.

Police and
military authorities shut down the highway near a bridge in Labo-Labo, Datu
Hofer, Maguindanao from 6 a.m. this morning after a powerful improvised bomb
was found by motorists.

A bomb expert
said the IED was cellphone triggered and could have maimed or seriously hurt
civilian motorists.

DATU PAGLAS, Maguindanao -- A rifle grenade fired from a distance exploded near a gas station here at about 8 p.m. tonight, town Mayor Ibrahim Paglas said.Paglas said nobody was hurt in the attack which, he said, aimed toward a gas station fronting the town hall in Barangay Madidis.He blamed illegal drug syndicates to be behind the attack apparently to avenge the group's losses in intensified anti-drug campaign of the local government.Bomb experts are still in the explosion site as of posting conducting post blast investigation.

COTABATO CITY – Police and local officials today said the death of a family of four in a
fire that hit five houses in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao was a case of suicide.

A suicide also
occurred in Tantangan, South Cotabto where a distraught father repeatedly
stabbed to death his two children and committed suicide by hanging.

Arson
investigators in Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao told reporters that it was
a case of suicide when one of the victims, Daemus Araneta, locked his children
inside home and set it on fire.
