MAGUINDANAO --- Suspected members of a local Islamic State-inspired group killed two applicants for military enlistment in a daring ambush in Sultan Kudarat town Saturday.

Celso Kusain, 25, and the 23-year-old Anthony Jumadiao died on the spot from gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.

They were together on a motorcycle en route to their hometown, Parang, from Cotabato City when they were attacked while motoring through Barangay Rebuken in Sultan Kudarat.

COTABATO CITY --- Two fishermen were injured Thursday in an accidental explosion of a home-made dynamite they were to use for fishing.

The relatives Datu and Mahdi, both surnamed Matabalao, are now confined in a hospital in the city.

They were sailing to a fishing spot two kilometers off the seaside Barangay Kalanganan northwest of the city when one of several dynamites hidden in their boat went off, hurting them both seriously.

Si Altamero na bunso sa tatlong magkakapatid ay kasalukuyang naninirahan sa Kidapawan City, wala na ang kanyang ama at nakauwi na rin sa lungsod ang ina nito mula sa ibang bansa.

COTABATO CITY (May 22) – At least 19 persons were injured in a vehicular crash in Alamada, North Cotabato the other day, authorities and disaster officials today said.

The Alamada Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) reported that the crash happened near Camp Paulino Santos, Barangay Dado, Alamada, North Ctoabato at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The vehicle was heading to Davao City from a brief visit at Asik-Asik Falls in Barangay Dado, Alamada, North Cotabato when the mishap happened.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- A target-listed drug personality was killed in an alleged shootout with police anti-drug operatives in an operation here early Tuesday.

Lt. Renato Dungca Jr., public information officer of the city police office, identified the slain suspect as Niel Jason Jansaon alias "Jason Bourne," 34, a resident of GenSanville Subdivision in Barangay Bula.

Dungca said Jansaon, who was listed as a big-time drug pusher, was gunned down by joint operatives after resisting arrest during a search operation at his home around 12:20 a.m.

Nakilala ang biktima na si Roy Señas, nasa hustong gulang, may asawa at nakatira sa naturang lugar.

Sinabi ni barangay Old Bulatukan chairman Basilio Guinang, alas 5:30 ng umaga kahapon pinagbabaril ang biktima habang nag-aabang ng sasakyan kasama ang misis nito sa gilid ng National Highway.
