Abot sa 63 na mga pamilya o 400 na mga indibidwal ang lumikas dahil sa takot na maipit sa gulo sa nangyaring engkwentro ng New People’s Army at kasapi ng 39th Infantry Battalion sa Barangay Bala, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, malapit sa hangganan ng North Cotabato.

Sinabi ni 39th IB commanding officer Lt Col Rhodjun Rosales, nagsimula ang sagupaan alas 3:00 pa ng madaling araw hanggang alas 5:00 ng umaga kahapon. 

COTABATO CITY --- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said Thursday it was for the support of Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi that they have busted another drug ring here late Wednesday.  

Juvenal Azurin, director of the PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Thursday they cornered six suspects in their hideout at Purok Talitay in Barangay Rosary Heights 7 in Cotabato City with the help of Guiani-Sayadi.

COTABATO CITY – Six persons were arrested and a suspected drug den was dismantled during anti-drug operations Wednesday night in Barangay Rosary Heights 7 here.   

Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi said the 8 p.m. drug buy bust operations was carried out jointly by the Army’s 5th Special Forces Battalion, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Cotabato City police office against a certain “Teng” in Purok Talitay, Barangay Rosary Heights 7, Cotabato City.   

COTABATO CITY – As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light) joined “Brigada Eskwela” in Maguindanao and helped beautify a public elementary school.  

Cotabato Light President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Caro C. Arkoncel and Assistant Vice President and General Manager Judy C. Sanchez, workers of the Aboitiz-owned power distributor took time out to join the bandwagon of beautifying and preparing the Simuay Junction Central Elementary School for June 3 class opening.

KORONADAL CITY  -- A new beginning awaits 50 inmates or “Persons Deprived of Liberty” after they finished the Technical Vocational Training administered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-12).   

A total of 25 inmates are now certified carpenters after they received their National Certificate (NC II) in carpentry and 25 female inmates received their National Competency (NC II) in Food Processing.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Patay ang isang gasoline pumpboy matapos na masangkot sa vehicular crash habang pauwi sa barangay Amas Kidapawan City alas 6:30 kagabi.

Kinilala ang nasawing biktima na si John Dua at nakatira ng nasabing lugar.

Ayon sa ulat ng PNP traffic section, sakay ang biktima ng kanyang motorsiklo nang bigla lang umano itong banggain ng isa pang motorsiklo na minamaneho naman ni Abesar Valentino na residente rin ng lugar.

Sa lakas ng impact ay tumilapon ang dalawa sa sementadong daan. 

COTABATO CITY  -- The first woman graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), now Police Colonel Portia Bañaga-Manalad today assumed as the first city police director.   

Manalad also becomes the first woman city director under Police Regional Office (PRO-12) or Soccsksargen region and the first in Mindanao.   

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Nine persons were hurt when a top-down multi-carry vehicle plunged into a ravine in Antipas, North Cotabato Sunday. 

All the nine passengers and the driver of the green multi-cab, including the driver, miraculously survived the 9 a.m. vehicular crash in Barangay Pontevedra, according to Capt. Bernard Abarquez, Antipas municipal police chief. 

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group is now investigating on a money market scam that duped hundreds of police personnel with false promises of high investment profits.

Regional police officials told reporters Sunday that four from their ranks - Cpl. Rhodora Bombita, Cpl. Daisy Javierto, Lt. Col. Henry Biñas and Col. Raul Supiter - shall testify against the operators of the controversial PlanProMatrix, or PPM, now subject of an extensive CIDG probe.

The four witnesses belong to the Police Regional Office-12 based in this city.
