Bahay nasunog sa Tantangan, South Cotabato

TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- Natupok kahapon ang isang bahay sa Barangay Poblacion sa bayang ito dakong alas 4:40 ng hapon.

Sinabi Fire Inspector Russel Basuel, Tantangan municipal fire marshall, ang natupok na bahay ay pag-aari ni Melbert Villabando.

Ayon sa imbestigasyon ng Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Tantangan), may pinuntahan ang Villabando at iniwan sa kanyang bahay ang kanyang batang anak na hindi kinilala sa report.

Dahil umano maraming lamok sa kanilang lugar ay nagpausok ang bata. Hindi naman nito namalayan na lumaki na apoy.

First day of classes peaceful in Region 12, cop says

GEN. SANTOS CITY – Police authorities in the Soccsksargen region today announced that the first day of classes for school year 2019-2010 was generally peaceful across the region.

 

Brig. Gen. Eliseo Tam Rasco, police regional director for Soccsksargen (Region 12), said in a statement that no major untoward incident have transpired that disrupted the first day of classes in all public schools in the region.

Day 1 of class opening: Toppled tree hurts 4 in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY –- Four high school students were injured, one of them critically, when a huge narra tree was toppled down by strong wind and heavy downpour in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato on the first day of classes Monday.

Police Major Nathaniel Panaguiton, Lake Sebu town police chief, said one of the four students, Albert Datal Timbang, 19, sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to South Cotabato provincial hospital in Koronadal City.

47 of 57 Midsayap barangays now `narcotics free'

NORTH COTABATO --- Forty seven of the 57 barangays in Midsayap where drug dealers are protected by either private armed groups or Islamic State-inspired militants are now “drug free,” officials said Saturday.

Naravy Duquiatan, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12, said the 47 barangays were officially declared cleared from drug traffickers and dependents during an interagency event in Midsayap last Thursday.

NoCot village councilman slain in second attempt on his life

KIDAPAWAN CITY  – A village councilman in North Cotabato who survived assassination attempt last month succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds Sunday in a shooting in Pikit, North Cotabato.

 

Samama Samok, 58, village councilor of Barangay Rajamuda, Pikit, North Cotabato was sitting on his motorbike in front of a roadside variety store for a brief stopover when shot by two unidentified gunmen at 10:30 a.m.

Fresh grad, pal die in deadly road crash in Davao

DAVAO CITY - A fresh graduate and her companion both died in a deadly vehicular crash here at dawn Friday hours after celebrating her graduation from San Pedro College of Davao.

Police report showed the victims were on board a Mazda sedan (MV file no. 1101-371731) driven by Melody Sotelo Ybañez, 27 with her sister in law, Janilou Faye Rosales, 21 who was seated in the front seat.
