COTABATO CITY  --- Gunmen wounded in an ambush here Friday Maguindanao Deputy Provincial Prosecutor Tocod Ronda and two companions.

The suspects, positioned at one side of the road, fired at Ronda’s white Toyota Grandia van while its driver was maneuvering towards an interior block in the Featherville Subdivision in west of Cotabato City.

Maguindanao provincial prosecutor Rohaira Lao has urged the police to investigate extensively on the incident. The wounded Ronda and his two unnamed companions are now undergoing medication in a hospital.

MAGUINDANAO ---Authorities are certain the Dawlah Islamiya was behind the bombing late Friday in the premises of a Catholic church in Datu Piang town, the second in about seven months.

The Dawlah Islamiya, also known as the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters that operate in the fashion of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, has been stoking public hatred for non-Muslims.

No one was hurt in the blast but the incident triggered panic in among families residing around.

The church is not too distant from an Army detachment.

MAGUINDANAO --- Suspected hitmen of the outlawed Dawlah Islamiya shot and wounded another off-duty member of the Army’s 6^th Infantry Division shortly before this weekend.

Staff Sgt. Rex Maleficiado, 38, was on his way home from duty at Camp Gonzalo Siongco in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao when he was shot with .45 caliber pistols by two men near a Catholic chapel less than a kilometer away from the Army camp.

The wounded Maleficiado was rushed by responding barangay tanods to a hospital for treatment.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY - Anti-narcotics agents shut another drug den here Friday, the third in just two months.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 is now in custody of drug den operators Carlos Ramos, Esmael La, Juhar Buda, Benjamin Abdillah, and Carlo Manamba.

They shall be prosecuted for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

COTABATO CITY  – Two persons were arrested during law enforcement operations by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in South Upi, Maguidanao on Thursday afternoon.

Major Esmael Madin of CIDG in the Bangsamoro Region said CIDG agents under the supervision of Colonel James Gulmatico, CIDG-BARMM regional director, were searching for Barangay Kuya chairman Victor Duran Lumao in implementing “Oplan Paglalansag Omega.”

COTABATO CITY  – A retired soldier was arrested by anti-narcotics operatives during drug buy bust operation in Aleosan, North Cotabato, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PEA) today said.

Director Naravy Duquiatan of PDEA Soccsksargen region said the anti-drug operation was conducted in partnership with the Aleosan municipal police office in Barangay New Panay, Aleosan, North Cotabato at past 5 p.m. Thursday.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- The police arrested a total of 582 law offenders, including persons wanted for heinous cases pending in courts, in separate operations in Region 12 from January 1 to 30, 2019.

Brig. Gen. Alfred Corpus, director of the Police Regional Office-12 here, said Wednesday a big number of people were nabbed in pursuit operations by personnel responding to reported crimes.

MAGUINDANAO --- The police recovered Tuesday a stolen white car abandoned by a driver after seeing a security roadblock ahead on a street he was to drive by.

The checkpoint in Broce area in Barangay Tamontaka in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao was set jointly by personnel of the Datu Odin Sinsuat municipal police and the Regional Highway Patrol Unit-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region after tipsters warned of the presence of a stolen white Mitsubishi G4 Mirage in a village nearby.

COTABATO CITY  --- Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 arrested Monday the seventh most wanted shabu peddler in Sarangani province.

Alvin Palec Llaneza, 30, fell in an entrapment operation by PDEA-12 agents in Barangay Malandag in Malungon, Sarangani.

Naravy Duquiatan, director of PDEA-12, said Tuesday the operation that resulted in the arrest of Llaneza was assisted by the Police Regional Office-12 and the Sarangani provincial police office.

COTABATO CITY --- A gunman was killed by a businessman he and his accomplices were to kill Sunday in Pikit, North Cotabato.

Jade Tayuan Omar, whose red Mitsubishi Montero was shot with pistols by guns- for-hire, managed to ram his ambushers with his sports utility vehicle, killing one of them on the spot.

Captain Mautin Pangandigan, chief of the Pikit municipal police, identified the slain suspect as Antong Ibrahim, who hailed from Barangay Batulawan, Pikit.

Omar, who is based in Cotabato City, survived the attack unscathed.
