Darul Ifta suspends Friday prayer rites from March 19 to April 10

COTABATO CITY --- The Darul Ifta in the Bangsamoro region ordered Thursday the suspension of all Friday congregational worship rites from March 19 to April 10 in support of the government’s COVID-19 containment efforts.

The Darul Ifta, or House of Opinions, is comprised of Islamic theologians from across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, among them graduates of religious schools in the Middle East and North Africa.

BARMM addresses employees affected amid Cotabato City lockdown

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on COVID-19 met with Joint Task Force Kutawato to address the lockdown situation in the city that is affecting the employees of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

Cotabato City houses the Bangsamoro Government Center where ministries and offices of the BARMM are located. Some of the BARMM employees are residing outside the city.

COVID-19: Lanao Sur, Marawi under "community quarantine"

The province of Lanao del Sur and Marawi City have been placed under "community quarantine" after a man from Marawi City who attended a religious gathering in Malaysia passed away at Amai Pakpak Hospital.

The information was shared by Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM).

Marawi PUI passes away, COVID-19 patient admitted in CRMC 

COTABATO CITY --- A person under investigation for COVID-19 died in a hospital in Marawi City Tuesday just as another patient in the Cotabato Regional Medical Center here tested positive to the dreaded disease.

The CRMC is the largest government hospital in central Mindanao, located near the local government center of Cotabato City.

COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT | Malaysia had reported a sudden spike in their COVID-19 cases, with most of these patients having links to the cluster who attended the ijtimak tabligh gathering in the Jamek Sri Petaling Mosque.

The Malaysian Health Minister said that 77 of the COVID cases were linked to the event held in Selangor. There were 16,000 attendees from different countries who were there from February 27 to March 1.

Anti-COVID-19 measures imposed in Cotabato City, Bangsamoro capitol 

COTABATO CITY --- Authorities on Monday started screening people entering Cotabato City from the north as part of the local government’s anti-COVID-19 initiative.

The city, covering 37 barangays, has been under "community quarantine" since before Monday.

Local officials said teams are monitoring the entry of people from Northern provinces where there were confirmed COVID-19 fatalities.

Seaside DBS town guarded against COVID-19

MAGUINDANAO --- Police personnel in the seaside Datu Blah Sinsuat town are helping monitor the health condition in barangays under their jurisdiction amid the mounting novel coronavirus infection scare. 

The Datu Blah Sinsuat (DBS) municipal police and the office of Mayor Marshall Sinsuat and local health workers are working together in ensuring that all of the 13 barangays under them are COVID-19-free as much as possible.

BARMM chief minister assures investors of continuity of incentives

COTABATO CITY - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Murad Ebrahim was lauded and thanked, on behalf of investors in the region, by the Board of Governors of the Regional Board of Investments (RBOI) of the BARMM in its Resolution No. 1 dated March 11, 2020 for maintaining the distinct legal existence of the RBOI, as provided in the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL). 

Early in the year Chief Minister Ebrahim issued Administrative Order No. 1 s. 2020 attaching the RBOI to the Office of the Chief Minister.
